Cable Certification

Also commonly known as cable testing

  •  Testing a passive network infrastructure, i.e. the outlets, patch panels and keystone modules, is extremely important for a number of very decisive reasons.

  • As a company, you must be able to rely on the commissioned work having been carried out properly.
The test confirms this to you.

  • As a contractor, you must protect yourself against later liability and rework.
The test confirms this to you.

  • Mistakes happen once a technician has been terminating network outlets for more than 5 hours straight: concentration is lost, or the person is disturbed or distracted while working.

  • Only a correctly configured test instrument can also deliver correct reports.

  • Some installers have their core business in heavy-current engineering and little experience with data cabling. Here the components are almost always not terminated correctly. Only a test brings clarity about the installation.
    Typical faults:
Image 1: Transmission errors caused by improper connection of the cables on the building facade, with more problems in rain or humidity.
Image 2: The installation cable was laid across the middle of the outlet, so the insulation was cut through by the divider in the middle and a short circuit was created. Twisting and pair shielding are also missing.
Image 3: Pairs laid far too long into the outlet and twisting no longer present.
Image 4: Short circuit between ground and blue/white can be seen at the top right. The pair shielding was also removed by the installer.

We test using the latest measuring instruments.

The Fluke DSX-8000 is the first Cat 8 certified tester on the market, introduced in January 2017.
Thanks to the tester's outstanding diagnostic capabilities and our experience, we find even the most hidden defect and in most cases can fix it on the spot.
